Best Restaurants in Miami County, Ohio (2025 Guide)

Let’s be honest — when people talk about food in Miami County, it’s always the same 3 restaurants. And they’re fine. But there are a few spots I’ve found that are actually worth going back to — the kind of places you end up craving later.

Here’s Part 1 of my personal favorites — a few you might already know, plus a couple you probably don’t.

1. Miyako Japanese Restaurant – Piqua

Tucked near the Kroger plaza, this one is super easy to miss — but once you’ve had their hibachi lunch bowls, you’ll understand why I keep coming back. Fast, fresh, and filling without being greasy or overly salty.

My go-to: Chicken and steak hibachi bowl (no mushrooms for me). It’s simple, good, and comes out quick — ideal for a weekday lunch or no-fuss weekend bite.

2. The Crooked Handle – Piqua

Yes, it’s technically a brewery, but don’t let that scare you off if you’re not drinking — the food stands on its own. I’ve only ever ordered the wings, and honestly, I don’t see that changing. They’re that good.

Pro tip: Go on Tuesdays — wings are BOGO. Favorites: Garlic Parmesan and Sweet Thai Chili (with ranch, obviously).

3. Smith's Boathouse – Troy

A little more polished, but still approachable. This is where I go if I need to have a solid lunch meeting or want a place that feels just a bit nicer without being overly fancy.

Fun fact: It’s actually where I took my father-in-law when I asked for his blessing to marry his daughter. Maybe he was unsure about me before, but definitely not after dinner. The food helped seal the deal.

Recent order I liked: The walleye. Clean, flaky, and not drowned in butter or breading.

4. Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Co. – Troy

If you love fresh bread, scratch-made desserts, and a cozy spot that smells like heaven, Bakehouse is the place. Whether you’re grabbing lunch with a friend or just treating yourself to something sweet, this downtown Troy staple delivers every time. Their rotating soups, hearty sandwiches, and baked goods (especially the cookies and muffins) are tough to beat.

What to try: I haven’t had anything bad here, but I usually go for a sandwich + soup combo, then grab a cookie or two to go.

5. Harrison’s – Tipp City

Not trendy, but consistently good. Harrison’s always feels like the right level of laid-back — and the rotating menu keeps it interesting without getting weird.

Solid picks: Steak sandwich or anything off their seasonal board.

6.  Coldwater Café – Tipp City

This is one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of places, but it’s worth slowing down for. Great coffee, a cool little space, and surprisingly strong sandwich and breakfast options. I usually come here when I want to get work done or meet someone for a chill coffee hang.

What to try: Breakfast burrito or any of their melts. Good stuff.

Final Word

I’m not trying to be a food critic. I’m just someone who eats out more than I should and hates wasting a meal on somewhere mid. These places? Not mid...

Got a local spot I should check out? Shoot it my way — always happy to expand the list.
